Nutrition – Introduction
Nutrition (also called nourishment) is the provision, to cells and organisms, of the materials necessary (in the form of food) to support life.
Proper nutrition in the form of a healthy diet is very important for your health and wellbeing – as the mantra “You are what you eat” dictates. I think everyone has had good and bad experiences with food. After a healthy and nutritious meal, you feel full of vitality and energy while you usually feel sluggish and tired after say, a burger and fries.
With a balanced, healthy and nutritious diet many common health problems, such as obesity, heart disease, diabetes, hypertension and cancer, can be prevented.
Combining a healthy diet with regular exercise (i.e. Yoga, Pilates and cardiovascular exercises such as walking, running and swimming) will set you on the right path to optimal health and wellbeing – and this is what I wish for you and would like to help you achieve.
I intend to use this category (“Nutrition”) to provide you with information and news on nutrition as well as some healthy recipes. And of course, if you have a great recipe you would like to share – let me know and I will post it in this category for everyone to enjoy.
